Southside Harmonics is a renowned Steel Orchestra that was established in 1979 under its former name (Lycs) ambeth community youth steelband. It was formed as a platform for young people in south London to continue developing their musical skills beyond school. With Many of its members coming from the London Boroughs of Lambeth, Southwark,Wandsworth and the surrounding south London Boroughs.

Over the years, Southside Harmonics has become one of Europe's premier Steel Orchestras, offering weekly music and arts sessions to both young people and adults in the community. These sessions provide participants with access to performances, tours, concerts, and competitions. Additionally, participants learn music theory, team building, confidence skills, time management, discipline, and various other life skills, while making a positive contribution to their community.

The organization has also been involved in workshops, classes, and sensory games for children with disabilities, including Asperger's syndrome, autism, ADHD, behavioral issues, and other disabilities.

Southside Harmonics frequently performs at various functions throughout the year. They have had the honor of performing for notable individuals such as Nelson Mandela, HRH Princess Anne, HRH Princess Margaret, The Lord Mayor, Iain Botham, Mick Jagger, and Ainsley Harriott. Their performances have taken place at prestigious venues like Hilton Hotels, Savoy Hotel, Dorchester Hotel, Alexandra Palace, Eltham Palace, and O2 Scrum on the Beach. They have also made appearances on BBC1 and ITV.

The orchestra has achieved success in Notting Hill's "The Best Steelband on the Road" competition, winning several times. They are regular participants in the Notting Hill Carnival, one of the world's largest street festivals.

Southside Harmonics boasts an extensive repertoire of music genres, including Pop, Ballads, Reggae, Calypso, and Bossa Nova classics. Whether it's a garden party, wedding, festival, carnival, or corporate event, Southside Harmonics can provide the perfect atmosphere with their captivating performances.
